~*Engaged*~
That's Right! I am Engaged to my Boyfriend of the last almost 9 months Seth! I am so excited. I have known that it was going to be happening sometime soon just really didn't know when or how. I had my suspicions of when and where but.. I was totally wrong!
Seth and I had been talking about the possibility of getting married since I would say the middle of April if not sooner. Seth had done a lot of ring shopping without me as I really didn't want to be placed in the awkward seat of the Jewelers putting my emotions towards a ring in Seth's lap. Yes I have been engaged twice before Seth, yes I have been in that awkward seat before and it just wasn't my idea of fun this time around.
Seth would send me pictures of rings here and there and I never really found one I fell in love with. So he asked if I would go shopping with him and he promised he would not get into the whole financial aspect of buying a ring with me there, so I agreed.
On Monday July 5th, "We went to Jared"... yes we went to Jared, i know a little cheesy but its just how it happened. I has been looking online and had an idea of a look I wanted. My taste in rings have change with each engagement. I want something that I feel like is going to be unique yes timeless and classy. Not to huge but not to small. I feel like my ring is just that. We found it at Jared, after looking many places online and in a few stores.
I had gotten a phone call while we were at Jared which gave me a good escape to let Seth talk about his end of the whole deal, which I was thankful for. There were a few complications with getting the ring into his hands ready for a proposal, first they sold the original diamond we had picked out, then he chose another one and had them put it in the setting, took the ring and realized they didn't size it correctly, took it back in and they sized it too big (before it was too small), so he had to take it back in and have it sized correctly for the final time. I knew he officially had the ring on July 22nd.
The weekend of July 23-25 my family, some friends and Seth all went up to Bear lake for the weekend, camping and riding our waverunners... This is my favorite lake and camping/waverunning is one of my favorite things to do, so I thought knowing he had the ring that he would propose, he always promised me that once he had the ring he wouldn't hold onto it for very long. Needless to say the camping trip had came and gone and we were back in Riverton unpacking everything... and I still had no ring.. I was a little bummed, I could of sworn he was going to propose up at the lake... After everything had been cleaned up and put away Seth decided he was going to go home, shower, and take a nap. At least that is what he told me....
He left, I showered, gave Zoie and Bath and was sitting around the house in my pajamas as I was tired from the long, hot weekend. My family was getting ready to have dinner (some leftover chicken salad sandwiches from camping.) I was being lazy, I asked my little brother Presten to go get me a drink out of the fridge in the garage ( for those of you who haven't been to my parents house we have a fridge in the garage that is basically a drink fridge.) Presten was awesome and went to get me a drink. I was cutting the corn off the cob and my mom told me she would finish cutting it off if I would go get her a bottle of water from the garage, Presten said he would and went to get my mom a bottle of water. He came back in and my dad asked me to go get him a drink... and said it was my turn not Presten's so i got up and went to get him a diet coke from the fridge out in the garage. I open the garage door and...
There was Seth with a dozen red roses, down on one knee, in his suit with my ring in one hand. I was shocked I wasn't expecting to see him in the garage, I thought he was at home sleeping... I was in pretty good shock that I don't remember exactly what he said but I know he asked me to marry him, and of course I said Yes!
We then ate dinner with my family, then decided we wanted to go to Village Inn for pie, as that was the place that we officially met each other. We sat in the same both, and it was just fun to look back at our dating and some of the fun yet crazy times have shared in the last 9 months.
We have no official wedding date planned right now, however we are thinking sometime in March 2011.

Summer 2010
Well I guess summer is Officially here! We just completed one four camping/ lake trips this summer! It was our only camping trip up to Jordanelle, we like this lake for its closeness to home, and its fun coves to play in. I didn't get any good pics of the lake or camping but I got an awesome "Chubby Bunny" picture of Seth. We were playing Chubby bunny with the extra large campfire marshmallows. I couldn't get even one in my mouth completely without gagging. Seth he got a whopping 4 in his mouth!
The following weekend we had our "Thompson Family Reunion" in Goshen, Utah.. yeah I know most of you have no idea where that is, but its a small small town near Santaquin, Utah which is where my dad grew up. My grandma was in charge of the big party this year... I don't remember going to these much in years past but I know they have them every year. My grandma sorta had the whole Hawaiian theme going on these are a few photos of the "Great" Decorations.
I want you to notice that in the close up of the lighted palm tree there is a bird, and a plastic doll hanging in there... I was trying to be sneaky in taking the pictures so they aren't the greatest! I also loved the gay rainbow flag we had going on.
On a few other Random notes I cut my hair... it was a mistake and I am not very fond of it... This is the new do... what do you think?
Since Seth gave me and Iphone I just love playing on it and downloaded a photo editing app, yes there is an app for that! lol.. I was playing around and came up with this version of the photo.. I really liked it, my mom said it looked like I was trying to get some clients... if you know what I mean... Do you think I am selling?
Every Tuesday we watch Guns, he is basically my adopted nephew! He is seriously one of the happiest babies I have ever met! I was making dinner for Seth, my dad and I, so Seth had to hold Baby guns and he fell asleep in his arms...
This is also Guns and his FAVORITE papa!
That's all for now...
Stay tuned for some exciting news Maybe Next week!

I Know I know...
Its been forever since I have updated the bloggity blog... I guess I just feel like since I don't have pictures to show of things I shouldn't write a post. So here is what has been going on.
In early May I turned 27! yeah its stung a little but I am moving on from it. Shortly after my birthday my family, myself, and Seth went on a vacation down to Orlando. We went to a lot of amusement parks, It was time for a thrill seeking vacation rather than a rich in history vacation.
We started the trip by going to Tampa and visiting Bush Gardens- I am going to give this park a C, They had 2 fairly thrilling rides, but I was expecting more. We spent maybe 2.5 hours in the park then decided to leave after Kasey had gotten motion sickness and well Seth, he ripped his shorts with a huge hole in them, this was not his vacation for clothes lol.
On Saturday the next day we went to Aquatica, which was a pretty fun water park owned by Sea world. They have a slide they advertise as being pretty cool, you go through clear slides that push you through a pool of black & white dolphins the problem was that it was like 3 seconds in the slide. They has many other fun slides and the whole family has a blast at the water park.
On Mother's Day we went to the place the my mom, and most of my family love best! Sea World! it was a lot of fun to see the dolphin show, ride the manta, and see all the seal life. The Believe show just isn't the same as it was when I was a child, i think mostly because the trainers are not allowed in the water with the whales anymore and its just not as cool without them doing what they love to do. I understand that, that lady was killed, but it was not the whales fault he thought he was just playing with his friend. They need to put the trainers back in the water.
The next day we were off to Universal Studios, I like this park, there is pretty much something for everyone, great shows, and some great rides. Presten lost his cell phone on the rockin rollar coaster. We all got pictures with "The Simpson's" and learned a little about moving making. Presten, Kasey and my mom all got to be part of short demonstration on movie making as well.
The following day we all headed down to Clearwater beach to hang out and soak up some sun. Kasey and Presten went Para sailing for the first time. Everyone has previously done it so it wasn't as big of a deal for anyone else to go but it was fun to get to see them enjoy the ride.
Next came Universal Studios Islands of Adventure, This park was fun and has some pretty fun rides. I enjoyed going on the Hulk, spiderman, and the dueling dragons (which I think they turned into a new harry potter ride now.) The boys all went on a water ride and got soaked, so then me and my mom bought ponchos for the river raft ride... Yeah lets just say didn't really do the best of jobs our bottoms still got soaked but it was pretty hot and we managed to dry off fairly quickly.
Disneyworld/ Epcot was the next day, we were planning on 2 days for the Disney parks however we found out while down in Florida that they were having the last Atlantis launch on the Friday, So we spent 1 day between the 2 parks, A lot of the rides and Disneyworld were down which was a little saddening but I have been to Disneyland bunches so I know the rides. Seth however has never been to really any amusement park other than Lagoon. I wish he was able to experience Space Mountain but I guess there is always California right?
On our last day in Orlando we drove down to the coast which was suppose to be a 2 hour drive ended up being about 5 hours. We saw the space shuttle launch then hurried back to the car to try to beat the traffic jam that was inevitable to get back to Orlando. A guy that I work with has a son that works for NASA and I have a few of the pictures he took that day, his our much better than the ones we have.
The rest of May not much happened.
In June work was super busy with Open Enrollment stuff and planning for all of the stuff that goes along with that. I was lucky to get to travel with my boss this year for one open enrollment meeting out in Winnemucca. I know its not a dream vacation but it was nice to get away from my office work and see what we really do. While I was out in Winnemucca, I was given the special privilege to go 1700 feet below the surface of the earth. What a crazy experience, to think your that far underground and to see the work the our employees do. I was underground for about 23 hours and got to see our underground shop, yes a whole mechanic's shop is built in underground! its amazing down there and the way everything is connected. Its very loud with all the heavy equipment working to drill, mine and prepare for a blast!. Luckily the safety guy who gave me the grand tour was awesome enough to remember his camera so here are a few pictures from me underground. I know they aren't attractive or even the best quality.
When I returned home from Winnemucca, Seth met me and we went downtown to get the new iphone 4, Seth loves me and bought me a iphone and put me on his coldstone/family plan :) so I got a great deal. I love my new phone and I am amazed at how many crazy/fun/interesting things i find I can do with it.
That weekend I spent much of my time down at the Utah Arts Festival keeping my dad company since he had to be there from open to close for the whole festival. It was fun a lot of friends and family all came to support my dad and we sat by the truck and talked and had a good time.
For the beginning of July.. its been a crazy one. On the 3rd we had a bbq with some friends and went to see the fireworks down in Riverton, for being a fairly small area they put on a great show. On the 4th Seth and I went to a family bbq for his side of the family. It was interesting to see where his Cousins live, as it was just around the corner from our old house in SoJo... Come to find out my little brother Presten use to play with Seth's cousin... Crazy how you find those random connections. On the 5th... Seth got off a little early to go with me... but I will tell you what we were doing in another post... so stay tuned.

New Car
So a little over a month ago my parents and Jesten both bought new cars, which in return gave me the I want a new car itch slightly. I began looking on KSL for something I really wanted either an Acura TL or Lexus ISF however I know I cannot afford the ISF at least the one I would want. So I searched for Acura's. I found a few that I like online but they were all down in utah county and I never foud myself that way to be able to look at it in person. Then last Thursday I was looking online and found one down at Ken Garff Honda, it was pretty and had all the fun stuff I really wanted right.. So I went and looked it was pretty and I like it, My mom suggested that I go look at the dealership that my parents bought their truck from a little over a year ago and Jesten had just bought him BMW from, I went and looked... then fell in love.. put my Mazda up for sell on Friday and within hours I was getting a lot of hits on my Mazda add. Friday night I took my parents, and seth with me back to the dealership, siad I want that car, but I know its been sitting there for a month so I knew they would wan to wheel and deal on it to move it! Well it worked in myfavor and I now own a 2007 Acura TL Type S. I love my little Mitzie (named after my grandpa gordon's dog, because he once had a white acura as well) Isn't she pretty?

Moving On....
So I thought that being I haven't posted about what has been happening lately I should do that. About 2 weeks ago I moved back to my parents house. This was kind of a forced/ but good change I think. Although I really loved my roommate Jessie, the situation at the house got a little crazy for me. She decided to have her boyfriend who I don't really trust for a few reason's move in, he is also the kind of guy who you feel like is always looking down and judging you. I constantly felt like he was watching my every move, and when I mentioned something about it, it changed to him hiding out upstairs all the time and that just got more annoying. This guy wasn't a very nice guy. I don't think he treated my roommate well but thats for her to figure out and me to move on with. So I am back home. Don't worry I don't have plans to stay long just long enough for Seth to get out of his place probably around June/July and then we will either buy/or find something to rent out in the Riverton/Herriman area for him to be close to work and me close to my family and better allowing me to allow Zoie her social time and time to run around in my parents backyard with her family.
I have also begun looking for a new job. I feel slightly trapped in my job right now. I don't feel like I can move up or into anything else, with a company this small right now there isn't room for moving. I have also felt like I am not getting treated fairly... Here is the story as I told to a friend of mine
So where I work there are 3 administrative assistants. I am the HR Assistant, and we have 2 Office/Operations Assistants. So for the last two years the pay has been like this me making $5.50 per hour, Admin A making 5.75 per hour and Admin B making 8.50 per hour. Me and Admin B both started around the exact same time into similar roles, she started 1 week prior to me. Through the last few years we both kinda fell in opposite but still similar positions her focusing more on operations and me focusing on HR. We have both been with the company for about 3 1/2 years. I came in with some college background but no degree; she came in with a background in real estate and a real estate license. Since then I have completed my Associates degree :), and Admin B has started going to a career college to earn a degree. (Just in the last 6 months). Now here is what I think... Being a Mormon in mining is kinda rare in the mining industry.(out of the 3 assistants I am the only lds girl, and my hr manager is also not LDS nor is my General Manager) I work with a ton of drinkers who are always getting together to have Margarita’s and beers. I decline to go to the bar with them after work because really I have no place there. However I feel like it’s putting me in a lower position because I am LDS and I choose not to drink that I am getting over looked when it comes to pay. We just recently got raises. I did the market research on these for my boss who then took them to the General Manager. When looking at them I realized even more how I should be making much more with going on 3 years experience, many learning courses through the employers council, and finishing my associates where I primarily took business management courses, that I should get a fairly good raise and that it should close the huge gap between me and admin B. I talked briefly with my boss about that gap and she agreed that it should start getting closed, as our job titles are the same and our job duties are very comparable. With that being said raises came out on Monday, I will now be making 7 per hour, Admin A will make the same as me, and Admin B will be making 10.50 per hour. Making the gap even wider. I am beginning to feel like because I choose not to go out and party with my co-workers that I am not getting the money I should be making. Yes I am super happy that I got a raise especially with how the times are going, and I am super happy about that, but at the same time I feel like I am not getting the fairness and consideration because I don't drink with them, and I don't get the face time outside of work that they do... (I have changed the actually wages, due to me not wanting to broadcast what I really make) but the differences are there. So what are your thoughts? What would you do if you were in my shoes? Do I sound like I am just complaining? Do you think my feelings are justifyable? Please let me know all 1 reader of my blog.
On other side notes here are captions of what else has happened to me in the last bit.

Sympathy Anyone?
So I am a little ticked off at the moment.
See today My dad is having a fairly major surgery. He has a buldging disc in his neck that has been causing him Intense pain for the past 2-3 weeks, his entire arm and hand is asleep at the moment making it hard to drive, write or do anything with that hand, However he has has extreme shoulder pain. Therefore he is undergoing surgery today.
I decided rather than take the day off to sit with my mom in the waiting area I would work most of they day and go to the hospital later as I know my dad will already be spending the night. So my work day is from 8am until 5 pm. I was planning on working through lunch and leaving at 4 pm. Which means I will still work an 8 hour shift today.
When I told my boss about my plans to leave at 4 pm today, her attiditude towards me just irritated me.
This is the convo
Me: So I am going to leave around 4 today to go to the hospital
Boss: Oh what time is your dad's surgery at?
Me: He should be going in about now I think
Boss: Oh well its a pretty long surgery when (her hubby) had it it was long
But the feeling I got was that she was saying I don't have a reason to be at the hospital sooner rather than later. Um Hello they are doing neck surgery on my dad! I feel like its a fairly big deal, but maybe it isn't

Just Another Manic Friday!
OMG... I mean really its friday and its 9:15 am here is Salt Lake, let me tell you about my FABULOUS morning thus far. I am suprised I am in one piece still, with no damage to Zoie, Me or my Car.
So I have been battleing some cough/cold/sinus crap for what seems like the better half of 2010 so far. I have tried everything and have just come to realize that I need to let the bug pass and then I will feel better, so with that being said I haven't any drugs this week trying to rid myself of whatever it is that I have.
So this morning I wake up and coughed up the lovely phlem that I have from sleeping, Let me tell you that is so much fun! NOT! I get ready for work, well I half ass get ready for work no make up really, just mascara and I make my hair presentable but not amazing. I get dressed and grab Zoie to go let her outside before I take off for work. Now Zoie is a pretty good dog most of the time, I have always just let her out without a leash as she wont run from me when its just her, she listens well most of the time and I am not too scared about cars on my street. Well Zoie travels across the street to the little ally way to the park in my neighborhood, Just as she was getting ready to come back to get her treat a HUGE truck comes hauling down the road, not super fast but not slow either. So I SCREAM at Zoie making the man in the truck slightly freak out, but then assure him that he is fine and he drives ff and Zoie crosses the street again to come home.
Zoie comes inside and I give her, her treat. Then I go to check her water bowl to give her fresh new water before I leave for the day, as I sit the bowl back down it spills everywhere, so I go to clean it up. When that is all cleaned up I go to get a bag of Office Groceries (stuff for the office) that were in the fridge, apparently the shelves on the door in our fridge are VERY easy to knock off and and thus when the back hit it coming out of the fridge it took off the top shelf, this shelf just happened to have a large jar of Marachino Cherries on it that of course fell, and broke open everywhere. Thus meaning I had to clean up glass, juice and cherries everywhere.
I take my office groceries and purse out to my car to get ready to go to work, realize i wna tto take a vitamin I had just bought, so I toss my stuff into my car, run back into the house, grab the vitamin, go back out to the car to find that I have dumped my purse all over my passanger seat! LOVELY!
I am suprised that after that kind of morning I didn't get in a car accident or something on the way to work. All is well now though, I made it to work, the kitchen floor is clean, and Zoie is at home safe!
I hope the weekend goes a lot better!

Life... Or something like it.
So I have been a HUGE slacker lately and I haven't really posted anything anywhere. I guess I have just been busy with life. Since moving work has been crazy with planning and attending my work Christmas party which is always a fun interesting task. I mean come on I work in the Mining field. It went off great and everyone was pleased with the choices that were made.
Then came all the Christmas Cheer... My family christmas party, Seth's family Christmas party, Christmas day trying to make sure we see everyone who needs to be seen yet trying to keep a low key day. For Christmas Seth got me an awesome Cusinart electric frying pan that I LOVE! I can cook so many wonderful things in it and its so easy to clean. He also bought me some new clothes that I picked out and a cord that connects my ipod into any tv. ( He has since kept my ipod loaded with new shows to watch Glee, How I met your mother, Greek, 30 rock, the office) I got him some clothes that i picked out again, a massage, and an iphone cover. Overall Christmas was a lot of fun.
I celebrated new years at my new place, My roommate Jessie and I decided to throw a new years eve party and it was a great success. We had many of both of our friends over and lots of good food, played rockband and hung out chatting all night long.
Towards the end of January we took a trip down to Las Vegas to see Beatles Love at the Mirage. It was alot of fun my entire family went along with Seth... He is so good to always come with me and my family everywhere and never complains about it one bit! While we were down in vegas so close to my mom's birthday, we decided to enroll her in the Mirages Trainer for a day with their Dolphins. It wasn't the greatest as she never really got to swim with them, but she did get to know alot about how they train and teach the dolphins. She even got to interact with the baby dolphin that was super super cute!
Now it is February and Valentines day has come and gone so this post wouldn't be complete without letting you all know how awesome of a Valentines day I had. Seth came over with a pie from Village Inn ( where we first met) Gave me a card to go along with the pie, Then after I finished getting ready he gave me another card, a sock monkey and we went to lunch at Thiaphoon ( where we went on our first "real" date as Seth would call it. I also love Thiaphoon and I would recommend it to anyone. The sock monkey is from the first show Seth wanted to get me into watching How I meet your mother. ) After lunch we went and saw the movie Valentines day, it was so so in my opinion. Following the movie we came home to play the new Mario for the Nintendo Wii which Seth gave me for Valentines day. Yes the Will and the game...
Now Seth just came over tonight after working and he has brought me MarioKart to play on my new wii so I better stop typing and go play some Wii.
Bye
